New CanLII Beta Site for Canadian Legislation

CanLII (Canadian Legal Information Institute, the portal for free online access to Canadian law) has released a beta version of its legislative resources:

"The new legislative information system offers:

  • Point-in-time access;
  • Point-in-time searching;
  • Version comparison;
  • Weekly updates;
  • RSS Feeds;
  • Better noteup."
Right now, there is data for federal legislation and for laws of Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan. The databases for other provinces and territories will gradually be migrated to the new platform.

The new system comes with a help page explaining the new features.
